Cold toes, warm heart.

Saturday, after the rally, on the F: a five-year-old girl with a balloon in one hand and in the other, a canvas bag that reads "SMUSH BUSH."

Sunday, snowing, and I'm making snow angels in those Navy Yards along VanBrunt when a snow plow rumbles by. The driver sees me and stops, reverses, and pauses for a minute. Then, wordlessly, he shifts back into forward and continues on his way.

I've got a warm heart. Pink cheeks and cold toes, but a warm heart. The trains still aren't running south of Jay St., but if tomorrow I wake up still snowbound in Brooklyn, it'll be fine, just fine.

Any idea where she got that bag? I recently made my own bags and t-shirts and stuff with that same slogan, if you are interested. Smush Bush.
